“You don’t see this at the precinct.” —Officer Michael Williams
Dealing with trauma and crisis day in and day out—including grief, murder, riots and suicide—can take a toll on police officers and their spouses. Discouraged and demoralized, these brave men and women are now facing hostility in the public as never before.
Recent unrest across America has amplified the need for ministry to more officers in coming months. We’re planning Law Enforcement Appreciation events in many cities, including some of the hardest-hit areas like Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis and Kenosha. Through Biblical teaching and engaging speakers, these outreaches will address the unique emotional and spiritual needs of officers and their families.
Connecting with others and listening to speakers who have walked hard, exhausting roads was a game-changer for Michael Williams, who serves as his police department’s peer counselor. “You don’t see this at the precinct,” he said.
This giving season, support those who put their lives on the line to protect our communities with an opportunity to be spiritually refreshed at one of these upcoming events.
